The 100 Level Build - Part 2
Hello Everyone!
I'm back with another Devlog sort of thing!
This time around, I'm happy to present the 100 level build, now with enhanced movement!
You might ask yourself "What do you mean, enhanced movement?" and I'll be glad to tell you.
Essentially, before the movement was slightly jerky due to the implementation in code that I had before, now we use something a little more sophisticated and it makes the movement much more silky smooth.
Also new to this build is my first attempts to use the Lighting Engine that unity has! A lot of the levels are still flat-shaded but a couple of them use light now to various degrees. I've also started trying to emulate "Weather" in World 2 with a light snow/fog effect which I think turned out okay? I'll have to wait and see what people think.
Important things to note about this new build are that the par times on the overworld are accurate up to level 50, after that your results may vary so I wouldn't try to get the speed challenge in every single level just yet. The golden pellet and completion of the level itself are completely possible, though.
I also implemented WASD controls across the board so if you feel like playing that way, then you can move in levels and on the overworld using that control scheme. I also allowed the "return" key to operate on the overworld. You can *also* still press N/B in levels to skip forward or backward but that's pretty much just for debugging purposes and not going to be in the final game so try not to abuse it! (who knows what will break if you use it)
Just as a fun aside, I added up all of the "Par times" for levels 1-50 and if you played superbly, beating all of the levels on your first try and within the par time... You would still be playing for 23.5 minutes which is pretty cool! Just playing through all the levels to change the par times took me a few hours though, so don't expect to be done in an hour!
I don't think I have anything else to mention just now, so please enjoy and let me know things you like/dislike and overall if you think $1 is a fair price or if I should start thinking about lowering/raising it! (The README included has known bugs inside of it so you can watch out for those!)
